What tasa 790 052 is, and when you need 012 instead

Tasa 790 052, often shortened to tasa 052, is the fee for processing residence and stay authorisations. You pay it with form 790 when an Oficina de Extranjería (immigration office, part of a government delegation or sub-delegation) handles your application. Paying 052 does not guarantee your authorisation, and it gives you no rights while your application is decided.

For example, 052 may apply to arraigo or family reunification.

When to pay

Pay within ten working days of submitting your application. Submit the receipt with its NRC within fifteen days of paying. If you apply online, pay when you submit it. How to pay tasa 790 052

1. Open the official form. Choose the regulation first: RD 1155/2024 for current applications, or RD 316/2026 for the 2026 regularisation. Then choose the province and procedure. The form needs a NIE.

2. Pay online. With a DNIe, digital certificate or Cl@ve, select “Realizar Pago” (Make payment) and follow the AEAT payment steps. Then select “Firmar y Enviar” (Sign and send) to register the fee.
3. Or print the form. Without those online credentials, select “Obtener Documento” (Get document). Print every page and pay at a collaborating bank. Not every branch serves people who are not customers.
4. Keep your proof. Save the payment receipt and NRC. Submit them to the immigration office within fifteen days of paying.

• Your admission notice, which gives you a NIE if you did not have one before.
• The completed 790 fee form for your procedure.
• The payment receipt with its NRC.

Common problems and how to fix them

You chose the wrong code

Use 052 for the authorisation process. Use 012 for a TIE, stand-alone NIE or EU registration certificate. If you already paid the wrong fee, ask the office handling your application before you pay again.

You don't have a NIE yet

The form needs a NIE, not a passport number. Wait until your application is admitted for processing. The admission gives you a NIE, and then you can pay.

You missed the deadline

If you do not pay in time, your application is closed as withdrawn. Ask the immigration office handling your application what to do next.
