If you work through an app, the EU is preparing more employee rights. Garantía Juvenil members can join free courses and get business support.

Do you work through an app or website?
New EU rules may make you an employee if the platform controls your rates, behaviour, performance, hours or which tasks you accept. If so, the platform has to prove you are not its employee.
As an employee, you could get the minimum wage, paid holidays, sick leave and unemployment benefit. Platforms will also have to explain how their automated systems work. And you will be able to ask a human to review major decisions, such as suspending your account or refusing a payment. SEPE gives no start date for Spain (details on SEPE).
In Garantía Juvenil? Free courses and business support
If you are registered in Garantía Juvenil, Spain's Youth Guarantee scheme, these options are open:
- Under 30? You can join «Reactiva Tu Futuro», free training and start-up courses run by the INCYDE Foundation (see SEPE).
- A new in-person Talento Joven course teaches the digital skills employers look for (see SEPE).
- Got a business idea? Generación IN, run by the charity Acción contra el Hambre, helps you launch it. Its youth programmes have supported 3.047 people and helped create 264 businesses (see SEPE).
Claiming unemployment benefit or extending a subsidy?
SEPE reminds you that you can apply for benefit or extend your subsidy in its Área Personal, with no queues and no trip to an office. Here is how to log in to the SEPE Área Personal, plus our complete guide to unemployment benefits in Spain.
Using the Spanish tax agency website?
Early on 16 November 2026, the tax agency (Agencia Tributaria) renews the security certificate of its online office. You can keep logging in as usual. Only organisations using custom-built software to connect to the agency need to check it accepts the new certificate (tax agency notice).
Filing Spanish taxes in November?
The tax agency lists filing deadlines ending on 2, 5, 12, 20 and 30 November. Check what is due each day.
