Correos can keep filing applications under Royal Decree 316/2026 online for you until 30 December 2026.

Applying for one of the residence or work authorisations created under Royal Decree 316/2026? Correos, the Spanish postal service, can keep sending your application online until 30 December 2026. The Ministry's migration department (Migraciones) and Correos have extended their agreement, according to the BOE of 28 October 2026.
Which applications does this cover?
Only the authorisations set out in Royal Decree 316/2026, which changed Spain's 2024 immigration regulations (the Reglamento de Extranjería). If you are not sure which route fits you, our guide to the five arraigo routes under the new rules can help.
What does Correos do for you?
Correos sends your application to Migraciones electronically. It also handles the follow-up when Migraciones asks you for more documents or sends you notices about that application.
What happens after December?
Migraciones has not said what will happen when the agreement ends.
What should you do now?
- If you plan to apply through Correos, do not leave it until the last days of the agreement.
- If you have already applied, check your extranjería application status regularly so you do not miss a request for documents.
